Desperate Housewives Season 2 Premieres...for me!

And now the moment that I have been waiting for all summer long: I get to watch the entire second season of Desperate Housewives starting today with the release of the DVD set! In our last exciting episode (see my May 15, 2006 entry "Desperate for Season 2 Now!"), you will remember that by some odd twist of network TV fate, I missed the entire first season of Desperate Housewives and only started watching it by means of the first season DVD set...as the second season was being broadcast! I enjoyed it so much that I vowed not to watch any of the second season episodes because I missed out on recording the initial second season episodes. Well I kept that vow. Today is Tuesday, August 29th and the Desperate Housewives Season 2 DVD set is out! Let the catching-up festivities begin!

Snakes on a Plane!

First day! Snakes on a Plane was great! Interestingly enought, this film brought me out of my self-imposed moratorium on going to the movies. Before SoaP, the last movie I saw in theatres was Hostel. Why? Like everything else, I blame it on World of Warcraft. That and the vast hoards of unwashed that wreak havoc at movie theatres these days. Heh.

The Simple Life: Til Death Do Us Part Finale - Whaaaa?

I loved the first season of The Simple Life. I was beginning to lose interest in but still hung in there for the second season. Was there a third season? I missed most of the latest season of The Simple Life and then watched most of the episodes yesterday in E!'s marathon, in preparation for the final episode. That episode was advertised as containing a confrontation between the feuding Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Ever the pop culture fan, I held out hope for a reconciliation between the two. Imagine my disappointment when the season finale ended with a really REALLY short "confrontation" a teaser for the next season. Argh!

World of Warcraft: Nearly Two Years On

I've been a big PC gaming fan since the early '90's when a little game called Doom revolutionized how I thought about video games. November 2004 was significant to me because that was the month of the introduction of the massively multiplayer online role playing game World of Warcraft (WoW). I normally have a stable of PC games that I play at any one time, but since that month (nearly two years ago) there has only been one game that I have been playing...and that is WoW. Apparently I'm no different from most fans of the game, as evidenced by this article. The fact that this game is dominating not only PC game sales but the free time of players is no surprise to me. Blizzard's previous games, such as Warcraft II and III, Diablo and Diablo II and Starcraft have been known to have the same affect on players. But never to this extent! Apparently fans are so pleased with the game that they are not buying other competing games and continuing to play WoW. Yes, that is exactly what is happening with me...not only do I find the game totally satisfying, but I consider it a good value and a logical way to spend my entertainment dollar. I don't expect this situation to change for a long time...or at least until Blizzard releases its next PC game. :)

Retrospective Archiving Complete!

Whew. I did all of the retrospective archiving of past blog entries in one session today. I did so many entries that Blogger mistook this as spam!! Anyway, what you now have is a vast amount of entries by yours truly dating back to as early as January 1, 2001, when I viewed the 2001: A Space Odyssey DVD to celebrate New Year's Day! Enjoy!

More Retrospective Archiving Coming Soon.

Back a couple months ago I began transfering some very old entries from DavidLisa.com (circa 2001-2004) to the new blog format. Well, I'll be completing that soon, because those pages are going bye bye. Perhaps even this weekend!
