Green Day - American Idiot

One of the best CDs out right now is Green Day's American Idiot. This epic recording echoes the best and most enjoyable "rock opera" sensibilities of Pete Townshend and The Who as exemplified in Tommy and A Quick One While He's Away. Furthermore, the lyrics are politically resonent, the music is as brilliant as it was back in 1994 and, as we dwell here in the US on the verge of another Election Day, this album seems more like Green Day's version of the State of the Union address. Regardless of whether you are tiring of hearing the title track and Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio, please do give the rest of the album a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
