Earlier in August I saw Liz Phair perform in-store at Vintage Vinyl, a very nice record store up in Fords, NJ. It was great and Liz performed many songs for her devoted fans. A very nice time indeed. NYC band Longwave opened up. In the Random Images area above you will see a picture of me getting my CD liners signed by Liz. Go here for the full scoop and the Liz Phair/Longwave picture page!
Two parts pop culture, a dash of professional librarianship and a whole lot of World of Warcraft.

2003 D & J Summer Film Festival
My daughter Jennifer visited during mid-August, and while she was here we hit the beach, the restaurants and...created the 1st Annual 2003 D & J Summer Film Festival. We teamed up feature length and short films for 7 days worth of extraordinary viewing. You can see how our film festival went by downloading the PDF of the brochure that we produced, containing information about our film picks and the day-to-day schedule. You must have Adobe Reader loaded in order to view this full-color document. Print it out on a single piece of paper (both sides) and fold up this tri-fold brochure for full effect!

Ween
I saw Ween at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park yesterday. What a great show! I had a great time and met some wonderful folks in the front row! Ween was in great form and they debuted some new material from their upcoming album quebec. The band is finishing up their Spring 2003 tour and will be embarking on a World Tour after the new CD is released in July. I hope to see them again during that tour. I took some photos of the Stone Pony performance and you can see them here. For more about Ween, check out the official web site at http://www.ween.com. In addition, I saw They Might Be Giants at the Stone Pony earlier in the weekend on May 23rd. Another exceptional band and show, although I didn't get any photos. Chiller Theatre Report
Post-Chiller Mini-Report: The Chiller Theatre Expo was awesome. I was there all day Saturday, April 26th. Got some great shots with all of my favorite people, including Brinke Stevens, Bill Mumy, Angela Cartright and Soupy Sales. Also, I was attacked by an 8 ft-tall killer scarecrow! Yikes! I had a great time. I will be posting the photos very soon, so come back!
X2
The Summer movie season has officially begun! I'm just back from seeing X2: X-Men United on premiere night. It was great and better than the first X-Men movie. It has lots of flair, great special effects and the characters that you loved from the first film are further fleshed out. Plus, several other mutants are given cameos. If you are a comics fan, you are gonna love this. In addition, without giving away any major spoilers, the cliffhanger ending of X2 portents the arrival of a character called Phoenix in X3. Excellent twist. This was a very satisfying moviegoing experience. It's a great time to be a comics fan!
