Star Wars: 30th Anniversary!

Today is very significant because it is the 30th anniversary of the premiere of the first Star Wars film. Unlike today where films get immediate wide distribution, I wasn't able to see Star Wars until a month after release. I saw Star Wars for the first time on June 28, 1977 at the theaters at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall, Pa. I was a 20 year old college kid on summer break. I still have my original "program" that I bought in the lobby! Happy 30th Anniversary Star Wars. Star Wars is one of just a handful of movies (including Eraserhead and 2001: A Space Odyssey) that truly changed my life. I was not the same after seeing this film!

The Office: "I Am Going Nowhere."

I'm still shell-shocked from Thursday night's Season 3 finale of The Office. It was, hands down, the best episode of any television comedy in recent memory...possibly ever. I can't do better than Entertainment Weekly's Abby West's morning after description here, so please check it out. I will be patiently waiting all summer long for the Fall 2007 season to begin. What an amazing, amazing TV series this is!

Lost - The 11 Frames of Jacob

The past several episodes have been particularly good, but the 5/9 episode of Lost was amazing. This episode introduced the enigmatic Jacob, so-called leader of The Others. At first he is not seen, but sharp-eyed viewers caught a glimpse of him. Click here to see the 11 frames of the shadowy image of Jacob. Does he look like someone we know?

The Office - Pam Gets Real on Beach Day

By now you know how good NBC's The Office is...at least I hope you do. Thursday's (5/10) episode was of the usual exceptional quality, but with a big, big twist. Check out this clip from the episode, probably the best "come out of left field" revelation in the show's history. It is just one of the many reasons why I love this show. Enjoy.
